Employees of Action Automatic Door & Gate, a Florida company that offers garage doors and automatic gate systems, recently received advanced access-control training. Six team members attended classes at Winter Springs, Fla.-based Barcode Automation Inc., a manufacturer of barcode readers for vehicle access controls and automatic vehicle identification. The employees who attended the training include:
- Greg Bradshaw, commercial/gate field manager
- Jose Comellas, residential service field manager
- Tim Currie, warehouse manager
- Dave Kindell, lead gate technician
- Jose Miranda, residential installation field manager
- Joe Pinder, lead gate technician
Class topics included installation and maintenance of readers, troubleshooting problems, and other technical issues. Additionally, the field and warehouse managers are taking electricity classes at Fort Myers Institute of Technology. Increased levels of training such as this are just one part of the company’s NextGen Plan, a process by which CEO and founder George Ebel may be able to one day sell the company to his top-performing team members.
“Each employee is trained and cross-trained to assure they have the most current skills in several disciplines to be more effective,” Ebel said. “As employees work their way to management positions, they have ample opportunities to take on more responsibilities, excel, and take more ownership in how the company operates.”
