Under the conditions of a new software deal with BigBear.ai (BigBear), which is a commercial launch supplier Virgin Orbit is going to now be able to supply AI-powered data and insights to its commercial and government customers. BigBear’s Decision Dominance end-to-end data analytics platform operationalizes machine learning and artificial intelligence at scale. The US intelligence community, the US Department of Defense, and many other US federal government organizations are among its customers.
On Sept. 17, the AI software business announced its new deal with Virgin Orbit, stating that it has already begun working to help Virgin Orbit and its clients by deploying AI-powered software for the mobile assets in the sector in real-time. BigBear is also working on applications that can recognize things, evaluate map land, ground material, and track temperature in space, and combine data from various intelligence sources, including satellites launched by – and in some cases owned by – Virgin Orbit.
In a statement, Virgin Orbit CEO and President Dan Hart said, “By integrating our launch expertise, satellite constellation partners, as well as the outstanding technology of the BigBear.ai, we can offer the end-users of space systems the capacity to evaluate rich data, notice changes, make well-informed judgments swiftly, and to take action.” “The potent mix of speedy launch, low-cost satellite technology, and sophisticated AI has a major impact on our national security, civil and commercial customers, allowing us to turn capabilities which have been thought about for years into a practical and feasible reality.”
Hart and Virgin Orbit announced in late August that the firm would go public via a special purpose acquisition company (SPAC) acquisition, valued at $3.2 billion. The agreement’s financial terms were not disclosed. With Earth Observation (EO) and Internet of Things (IoT) services, the launcher’s SPAC news also featured a revelation that it plans to go into data and analytics. In early 2023, the business expects to deploy 2 IoT and 2 EO satellites. Hart also appeared in a fireside chat discussion with Sir Richard Branson, Virgin Group founder at SATELLITE 2021. He highlighted why Virgin Orbit was combining space-centered data analytics into its platform.
BigBear.ai, which serves the intelligence and national defense communities, is the new frontrunner in decision dominance. To provide information superiority and decision assistance, the company offers high-end competencies across both the data and digital spectrum.
Machine learning and artificial intelligence, data science, offensive and defensive cyber, advanced analytics, data management, digital engineering, cloud solutions, and systems integration are all available through BigBear.ai.
